Bob sent a text tonight with a couple of pictures of him at the Mexican Border. He called a few minutes later, after he had begun hiking, to tell me about his trip from the airport to Campo (border and PCT trailhead). He had to take a couple of buses to get from San Diego airport to Campo, which worked well, other than the second bus driver taking a long break halfway through the route. Oh well, he finally got to the border at 6:30 PM and was excited to start his long adventure.

There must be some "practical" reason why he shaved off all the hair?
ReplyDeleteHe decided it would get too long if he didn't shave it all off and also hot in the desert. Hope he doesn't get sunburn! He said he would use sunscreen. Honestly, I like him with the beard. The picture was his first self portrait - pretty funny. LOL Also, he is texting! Another first!
